Wheat cinnamon rolls

Here is the recipe for the best cinnamon rolls ever. They are a total food storage recipe made with wheat. These are much healthier than other recipes or store bought. To watch a video on how to make these go to www.everydayfoodstorage.net. She has tons of how to videos. I just love that website! When I make these I do not make the icing. Helps cut calories. Make the wheat bread recipe and then follow with this recipe!

Wheat Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

Wheat bread dough (see wheat bread recipe)

Cinnamon Roll Filling
1 c. packed THRIVE brown sugar
1-2 Tbs. cinnamon
1/3 c. butter
Raisins (opt. soak in vanilla water to help soften them up.) (Sprinkle on to dough after spreading the filling on the dough)

Cream Cheese Frosting
4 oz. (½ a pkg) cream cheese
½ c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Make a batch of wheat bread dough. Let the dough double in size. Form the dough into a nice big ball, like you would for a roll. Roll the dough, starting in the middle of the dough each time, into a rectangle on a floured. The dough should be about ¼” thick.

In the mixer cream together the cinnamon roll filling. After it is creamed together spread it over the dough.

Roll the dough up. Use either dental floss of thread to cut the dough into 1 ½” pieces. Grease a round pan and place the cinnamon rolls about 1” apart so they have room to raise. Cover the cinnamon rolls with a towel and let rise until they have doubled in size. Bake 350° for 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

When they are done cooking mix together the frosting and spread it over the cinnamon rolls!!!

Enoy!

Wheat Bread

Here is a recipe for wheat bread. This is another recipe by www.everdayfoodstorage.net You can take this dough and make it into....healthier cinnamon rolls. I will post that recipe next! I dont have a pic of this bread sorry!

Wheat Bread

Ingredients

1 ¼ c. warm water '
1 Tbs. yeast
¼ c. honey or 1/3 c. brown sugar
2 ¾ c. THRIVE wheat flour
¼ c. wheat gluten (opt)
1 tsp. THRIVE salt
2 Tbs. THRIVE dry milk
1 Tbs. butter/margarine/oil
1 Tbs. vinegar (opt)
¼ c. potato FLAKES (opt)

Directions:
Sprinkle the yeast & sugar over the water & let it set for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients in order listed in a mixing bowl with dough hook 12-15 minutes. Let the dough rise until it is doubled, 1-1 ½ hours. Punch the dough down. Shape into a ball & roll it out on a floured counter into a rectangle no wider than you bread pan. Don’t roll it out real thin. Roll it up like a cinnamon roll. Pinch the seams together. Grease your pans & put the dough in the pan. Let rise until it has doubled. Bake 375° 20-30 minutes. If you have a glass pan cook at 350°.

FYI:
For the optional items, these are optional but make all the difference. If you cant add all of them add what you can. They help make this bread less dense. This truly tastes like store bought only better.

Enjoy!

EZ bread/rolls

The last few months I have started making my own bread which saves tons of money for my family. I have even come to enjoy making bread and it tastes so much better than store bought bread. My fave bread recipe is from http://www.everydayfoodstorage.net It is called EZ bread. The name describes it exactly. EZ. It is so easy to make and is delish!! I always make a double batch. This bread is very light and fluffy so in a double batch I ALWAYS add 1 or 2 cups of wheat flour to help make it a little denser and well healthier. This is kid tested and approved. My 6 yr old told me I cant buy store bought bread anymore. If thats not kid approved I dont know what is. I have changed this to mostly THRIVE ingredients!

EZ White Bread/Rolls

Ingredients:

1 1/8 c. warm water
2 tsp yeast
2 Tbs THRIVE sugar
Let rise together in bowl

Add in the following order:
3 c. THRIVE flour
1 tsp. THRIVE salt
2 Tbs. THRIVE milk powder
1 ½ Tbs butter ( havent tried THRIVE butter powder yet)
¼ c. potato flakes

Directions:

Knead bread. Butter bowl and top of dough. I spray my bowl with Pam instead of the butter and it does the same job. Let rise till doubled. If making rolls form them now. Cover and let rise. Roll out like cinnamon rolls. Roll up and karate chop the ends so they look nice and smooth. Place in pam sprayed bread pans. Let rise. Bake 350 deg for 18 minutes. When done immediately butter tops of rolls and bread.

We have a snow day today so I will be adding different food storage recipes through out the day!

Enjoy!

Shelf Reliance

Most people have not heard about Shelf Reliance`s home party program. It`s brand new. The 1st official party was Oct 2009 and the program officially launched in April of 2010 . This is a great time to be involved with everything being so new.

Going to a Shelf Reliance party is a lot like going to other home parties only better. :) At a party you are able to hear about all the different products we sell but even better than that you are able to TASTE different products. I don`t like to buy things if I don`t know if I am going to like it. So you don`t have to worry about buying something from a party and not knowing the quality or the taste. You will KNOW that you are getting something that you and your family will enjoy!

So you might be wondering, other than getting to try the different products and learning more about food storage, why you should even have a party. What are you going to get out of it? We have some of the BEST host benefits that I have personally seen in a home party program! I have held several parties for different companies and I never seam to come out of it with anything. And a lot of the stuff I have bought either sits on a shelf or in a drawer. I don`t use it very often. Well with Shelf Reliance you KNOW you are going to use the products, its food. Who doesn`t need more food storage. We treat our hosts GREAT! Our hosts get 10% of ALL sales in FREE product. There`s no minimum amount of order totals you need to be at. If your show total is $100 you will get $10 in FREE product. The parties I have done usually have an average of $800 or $900 in sales! That equals out to be $80 or $90 in FREE product. Now you might be thinking I don`t have big parties, well either did I! It is totally doable. Not only do our hosts earn FREE product but they also have the opportunity to earn 1/2 price items. For EVERY person who books a party from yours you will earn $100 1/2 off. So you pick $100 worth of product and you will only pay $50. Also if your party totals are between $400 and $799 you will get $100 1/2 off! And it goes up from there. So you can see that you have tremendous opportunity to earn a lot great stuff at a GREAT price...FREE to 1/2 off.

When someone signs up for the Q from your party, because you have to be on it for at least 3 months you will get the amount they sign up for X3. So if they sign up for $100/month on their Q you will get $300 towards your party. Remember the FREE and 1/2 off? $300 gets you just below the $400 level for 1/2 off. It also gets you $30 in FREE product! I`ll tell you more about the Q in just a moment!

The last host benefit we have is called the double dip. With other companies when you go to a party and you see something you want to get but want to get it at a discount price you will sign up to have a party, right? So you will hold off on buying it at your friends party. We don`t want you to do that. We want your friend to get all the host benefits they can! So we say get it at your friends party, they get the benefits plus the party booking credit, because you booked a party, BUT you also get the benefits. Say your order is $200, your friends gets those benefits but it also goes towards your party. Before your party even starts you will have $200 in sales! Double dip! It helps your friend AND you!

Getting excited to have a party and start earning all those wonderful benefits? What a great way to start/continue to build your food storage!

The Q. What is it you ask? That is a great program that shows you what you need to store for your family for what ever length of time you choose. You tailor what you get to what your family eats. If you don`t eat rice then you just take it out of your Q and you don`t get any rice. The nice party, you say how much you want to spend every month. The Q is a monthly shipment you receive. You do have to be on it for at least 3 months and after that you can pause, cancel or do anything you want with it. To learn more about the Q feel free to contact me at thrivingfoodstorage@comcast.net

Your probably wondering how much is the food? Food storage is expensive! Well because your at a party we want to give you party pricing. Sure you can go to Shelf Reliance and buy directly from them and get the same great food but why pay more! Each item is different on what you are going to save from retail price. It might be $1 you save, it might be $5 or it might be $200. $200! That`s a LOT of money! When I bought my Harvest 72 4 years ago I paid retail price. That`s $460!! Party pricing is $264.99 That`s almost $200 you save!!

I`ve talked a lot about the food side of Shelf Reliance. But that is not all we sell. We also have these wonderful rotators. We have them in every size you can imagine! If you have a space chances are we have a rotator to fill that space. Everything from your cupboard shelves to our giant Harvest 72. And prices that are in everyones price ranges. Anywhere from $20 up to $264.99. We also have emergency supplies. Tons of great items for your 72 hour kits, your home, water supply, water purifiers even camping.

Want to see all these wonderful products we sell? Go to www.shelfreliance.com Now the price you are going to see is retail price. In order for you to see the party pricing you need to email me with your email address. I will add you as a customer. Then all you have to do is sign in with that email and you will see party pricing. Find something you want? Order it online. I bet your wondering about shipping. We have GREAT shipping prices. Shipping is based on how much you spend. Shipping prices range from $6.99 and tops out at $15.99. So you will pay NO more than $15.99 no matter how big your purchase is or how heavy it is!

As you can see Shelf Reliance is a GREAT company! We treat our hosts GREAT! If you are interested in having a party email me (thrivingfoodstorage@comcast.net) and we will get one set up. Don`t live near me, that`s fine! Send me your email address and you can get the same great pricing! I will travel between Olympia, Wa and Portland, Or.

About me

Welcome to my blog! I just wanted to introduce myself so you can get to know me a little better. I am a stay at home mom and love it. I have been married for 7 years now. We have 4 wonderful (wonderful as in kids who fight all the time, purposefully try to make each other mad or yell, wild & crazy) children who range in age from 13 down to 4.

Those who know me well know that I am very frugal. Just before I started building my food storage I started using coupons. As I began to save money I realized that I could use some of the money I was saving to build my food storage. So about 4 years or so ago I decided that I needed to start building my food storage. Now when you hear me refer to our food storage I am meaning everything you need to survive, food, water, toilet paper, hygiene items, household items etc. My use of coupons is what has made it possible for me to build my storage.

As I was using my coupons I was starting to getting things for FREE. Things that my family used that was killing me to buy I was getting for next to nothing. For example, my husband loves Gillette razors which are around $9 for 1 razor. Well when I watched for a good sale and paired that with coupons I was able to get them for .50 each. We now have at least a year supply of razors. Same with body wash, shampoo and other items we use on a daily basis. I have gotten pretty good at using coupons and I really enjoy it.

Fast forward 4 years or so. Towards the end of this past summer (2010) I just happened to see something about Shelf Reliance starting home parties. I knew about Shelf Reliance. One year for Christmas my mom had bought me some of their small cupboard rotators and about 4 years ago we bought the mac daddy shelf...the harvest 72. I LOVE my shelf! Anyways, When I saw that Shelf Reliance was just starting out with home parties I was trying to find something to help fill my time. With out even thinking about it I KNEW this was for me! No questions asked. Shelf Reliance home parties and me, it just made since and was a perfect fit. When I talked to my husband about it he knew it as well. This was for me! So I signed up and have loved every minute of it. I have built my food storage along the way as well as made money and helped educate people about food storage. Now I don't have to worry about boring people when I talk about food storage. People are coming to the parties to HEAR me talk about food storage. I love it! I LOVE my job!
